Resolutely
challenging the extreme climatic conditions and deteriorating
natural resources the Ramakrishna Jaidayal Dalmia Sewa Trust
has initiated “SAVE WATER SAVE LIFE” Project in
Chirawah village of Jhunjhunu District in Western Rajasthan.
The Trust works actively to ensure a better milieu and basic
living conditions to the masses of the area. Towards this
end the trust has embarked on Rain Water Harvesting and has
built 445 water reservoirs in the adjoining areas. 35 water
tanks are under construction which will capacitate approx
1, 00, 00,000 liter water. To advance the cause of fresh and
healthy air in the region, the trust has been planting saplings
of various kinds in and around the village of Chirawah. More
than Fifty thousand medicinal and fruit bearing saplings have
been planted and more than 1.5 lakh saplings are being readied
in their own nursery to be planted in the entire area which
would develop the environs on a large scale. The trust has
been organizing rallies in Schools and all the villages in
12 Gram Panchayats to bring about increased awareness on the
conservation of water. This project aims at benefiting more
than 21, 220 citizens of Jhunjhunu.
The trust is a proud recipient of the prestigious
“JAL MITRA” Award for the year 2006.
The Dalmia Shiksha Samiti has also established two schools
to promote education among the people of Chirawah. The schools
are named Shri Dalmia Higher Secondary School and Shri Dalmia
Girls Higher Secondary School.
