GHCL owns two Edible Salt refineries. Both refineries are suppliers to various edible salt brands. In addition, industrial grade refined salt is produced for use in textiles, dyes and detergent industries.

At Vedarnyam GHCL produces about 1, 50,000 MT per annum of Raw Salt of both edible and industrial grade. The total area of Salt Pans is 3200 Acres. The refinery produces branded Edible Iodized free flowing salts like Sapan, Udayam etc. They also produce pure crystalline powder and textile industry grades of Institutional Refined Salts.

Thiruporur Salt Refinery an ISO 9001:2000 has an installed Capacity of 1, 00,000 MT per annum. The refined edible salt produced conforms to the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) specifications of IS-7224 and IS253. The unit has six high speed automatic fill and seal machines, imported from Holland to pack branded Edible Iodized free flowing salt. The refinery produces popular national brands of Annapurna and Captain Cook for Hindustan Lever and for various local brands.
